twelve plus two
Last night Jonathan (who appeared in WCQ042) and I went to opening night of Twelve Angry Men at The LaSalle Theatre. It’s an amazing ensemble piece about twelve jurors who are faced with deciding the fate of a young man who is on trial for the murder of his father. This particular production by the Roundabout Theatre Company stars Richard Thomas and George Wendt, who coincidentally was born and raised in Chicago.
The show was wonderful and the ensemble did an incredible job. I knew a bit about the story but I’d never seen the movie nor a stage production. Such a treat but I still maintain that the LaSalle has a problem with sound. Either than or I’m a deaf DJ.
After the show we stuffed ourselves with food and drink at Italian Village, and the decided we’d hit Gentry on State. Needless to say we were there for last call. Truly, a great piece of art like a play can inspire hours and hours of conversation.
It was a wonderfully perfect night.
