idol & smoking
Idol last night was fun. My friend Keith and the handsome Adam won and I’ll be looking forward to seeing them at the semi-finals. Crew is a fun bar at times, but mostly I don’t get there too often except to eat. It’s not a comfy place for me to settle in for a cocktail I suppose. It certainly feels more restaurant than bar.
Before the show, Amy and I were planning to eat there, but when we arrived we were promptly told there was a waiting list for tables, despite several obviously empty ones. After recording a quick show at the Starbuck’s across the street, we hit Marigold for some supremely delicious food. We shared chicken and lamb kebabs, and some spicy daal. Amy had a salad with beets, but I’m not a fan of them. All incredibly good, and all priced right.
This morning I was gagging at the aroma of my smoky clothing from the night before when I happened upon the Tribune article stating the House OK’d the smoking ban statewide.
Thank GOD.
I used to smoke. I used to smoke a lot. And I quit a long time ago. But it’s plagued me for a very long time because many of the places I like to go are basically the inside of chimneys. I cannot wait until the clubs clean up and lose the smoke.
It’ll make me a happy person.
