weekend wrap-up

Friday night I went with Sergio to see Collaboraction’s Sketchbook Program B at the Steppenwolf Garage.

Wow.

It was a collection of eight short plays set in a performance space where the plays happened in multiple places around you. There’s no set seating and you move around in the space as various performances take place. It was a visual treat and the perfect start to the weekend.

Saturday I rode long and hard, doing a 35 mile bike ride into the woods. Technically that made 65 miles last week. It was fun, but even today I can feel it in my legs. I chose not to ride to work today to give myself a break. I deserve it :-)

Saturday night Justin came by and we invited some of his friends over to hang out on the back porch and soak up some of the post-pride booze. Somehow or another, I excused myself and knocked out to bed before they left. I hope they didn’t think I was rude. But it was a super fun group of boys and I’m glad we got the chance to hang out.

Sunday, we woke up and hit Clark’s for brunch, and then I headed off to Amy’s. But, I blew an inner tube on the way over (thankfully RIGHT near Kozy’s) so we canceled our plans. I’m not sure why my inner tube blew, but it mucked up the wheel. $50 later I had a new back tire and I was off to hang out with Ken and HoliDave for a bit, before returning home with Ken. Jane later stopped by and we all hung out on the porch, still soaking up the post-pride booze.

Good times.
