sore, in that good way
Wednesday night Corey, our new Rudolph, and I headed out for a drink. Selfishly, I wanted to hang out with him because I think I’m a pretty good ambassador to Chicago. He’s been here a couple months with his boyfriend, and there are a million places around town I think he should see. But we just had a drink or three at Spin and chatted. Good fun.
Of course, I was out until god knows when, and then had to get up at the butt crack of dawn for a conference call. Thankfully I worked from home and was able to curl up with a pot of Earl Grey and my computer to get some work done.
After work we had a photo shoot for Rudolph with the brilliant Rick Aguilar. Been a while since I’ve had that much fun in front of the camera. I was… wait for it… a big gay elf. Corey joined in as Rudolph, and Aaron came by as Santa. David was the art director with Rick behind the camera. For a hot second it felt a bit ANTM in my head, but thank god Mr. Jay wasn’t there because I would have had to comment on his horrible hair.
Anyway, I hope the photos came out fabulous. Can’t wait to see them.
At rehearsal last night we danced. And we danced some more. And then we danced even more. And we danced so much that I keep forgetting that I have to sing while I’m dancing. I huffed, and I puffed, and I blew… No. Haven’t blown anyone in the cast (yet).
I sorta know the moves for three of the numbers but I’m not sure if we choreographed the fourth. Ww may have and I’ve just forgotten it. Today my legs are sore, my arms are sore, and I have to keep telling myself to relax my shoulders because I’m hunching myself up.
Good lard, is it really not going to be above 50F today? G’bye fall, and hullo winter!
