A New Year. I Has It.

Here I am, blogging on the first morning of 2008. There is so much to look forward to in this new year, but I have to look back a bit to realize a few things about where I’m going.
1) I realized I feel best when I’m in the kitchen. Pots bubbling, oven on, utensils out, I’m truly happiest when I’m cooking. That doesn’t mean I’m going to run off to culinary school, which would be a waste for me in my life, but I am going to kick some culinary projects I have in the works into high gear this year.
2) Leaving Japanese was the hardest decision I made in 2007. But I predict it’ll be the best one for me. I have to relax and focus on my Greek studies.
3) Guitar was fun, but it’s all about Bouzouki going forward. Somewhere out there in the world is a Bouzouki with my name on it, and I’m determined to find it this year. Playing it will be an entirely different matter.
4) I dated a few folks in 2007 and enjoyed our time together. But I’m demanding about one core thing that is non-negotiable. He, whoever he is, has to have his financial shit together. I’m not saying I need to date a Pritzker, but I am financially sound and stable. He must be as well.
5) Meeting activists in the GLBT Elderly community opened my eyes to so much that I’m missing and so much that I need to learn. I have a platform and I’m using it. But more is needed.
6) Acting is not something I’m great at. But I’m toning and shape my acting muscle. I’ll get there.
