how did it get to be Monday?
I swear yesterday was Friday. How did this weekend fly by so damn quick? Oh well, the good news is that the more weeks that pass, the closer we are to the blissful Chicago summers I love so very much. Waking up and heading out into the blue skies and sunshine makes me a happy boy.

The houses have begun to pick up at Die, Mommie! Die! (do YOU have your tickets yet!). We’ve consistently had engaged crowds, but the number of bodies is steadily increasing. It really does make a difference when you have the chance to play to a full house, especially when doing comedy. Dramas make for normally silent audiences, but the foundation of comedy is the laughter. Without that feedback-loop it can be hard to get through a show.

On Saturday I trekked to Greektown to buy another lighting stand. I hadn’t been back to Helix Photo in a long time and I figured a look around was in order, plus I needed the stand so I made a short journey of it. Alleys like the one above are what I remember most of being in Greektown. Between each building, those old school fire escapes are a hallmark of the older tall buildings in Chicago. They may put them on newer ones, I don’t know, but I remember the alleys of Greektown because as a little kid, looking up at those see-through stairs, I knew I’d be scared to death to walk down them if there was ever a fire.
Last night I had the chance to hang out with my gurlz Adamz and Kenz and we met two interesting boys. One, Adam from NYC, who I actually saw in a production of Broadway Bares last year (who wore grapes on his… mm hmm, during the show), and another named Alan, and adorable bright-eyed lad who seems… eager. Yes, eager is the right description.
After Sidetrack and Bucks, Adam (the friend, not the grapes) and I ate at Nookies and shared some incredibly interesting conversation as always. I like that Adam. He’s good people and I’m glad I have gay men in my life like that. Tres important.
